Happy Takes Photography

I absolutely loved photographing Andrea and Dan in the falling snow. I know most people are SO over the snow by now, but seriously..there is just something so magical about it to me! Plus, it makes for a great excuse to snuggle – which I am always a fan of that! I think I am truly blessed to have such genuinely joyful couples and these two are certainly no exception. The snow was really coming down at first and it kept getting caught in our eyelashes making for a good laugh! Andrea and Dan wanted to start off the session at their house and I love photographing at places that are important to the couple so win-win! After capturing a few outside their home, we went into the city! The initial idea was to head to the ice bar in the third ward, but this turned out to be packed so we snuck off to a quiet corner with lots of that pretty MKE brick. This is when I really got to witness the love they share. We had so much fun just walking around the old buildings!

Their wedding is coming up so quickly in May. I cannot wait to be there celebrating and capturing the whole time!! Here is a collection of my favorites from there session!

The first time I met Sam and Tim over coffee to discuss their Milwaukee wedding we instantly connected. These two are so awesome it was easy to form a fast friendship! Choosing a location in during a winter with little snow is tricky. Thankfully, we found this sweet lakeside spot – it was the perfect backdrop for their session. I absolutely love working with adventurous couples that don’t think twice at my silly requests. They even trusted me to step out onto the rocky shore for some snuggles! I feel so lucky that they have chosen me as their wedding photographer because they are truly a blast to be around. We had so much fun at the engagement session and spent the whole time laughing. They also brought along a personalized bottle of champagne from their friends – such a great idea!

Sam and Tim, I cannot wait to celebrate with you this fall, thank you for the honor of letting me capture your love. Here are some of my favorites from their session!

Sarah and Ben met while working together as microbiologists at the Miller Brewery in downtown Milwaukee, WI. Add this to my love of beer and it only made sense that we would do their engagement session here. PLUS, cream city brick – am I right?! Miller was decked out for the holidays and although we were missing the blanket of white snow we were grateful for slightly warmer temperatures than the current tundra we are dealing with ;P

They were so fun to be with and Ben certainly  kept us laughing with all his silly antics. Sarah, I think you’ve found a great match to keep you laughing for a lifetime. I am looking forward to their big day next year at Old World Wisconsin. Sarah is planning a DIY wedding with details that are sure to impress – I cannot wait to see it all come together.

Amanda and Casey chose Covered Bridge Park in Cedarburg, WI for their engagement session. I had never been to this park, but it is really a beautiful location with a little river flowing through – it was a great choice! They were thinking ahead when they packed the beer and wine – having a drink riverside was so perfect! Their session ended with the most beautiful sunset, which reflected off the water and made a stunning backdrop for their snuggles. Please enjoy some of my favorites from their session!

Is there anything better than sunset snuggles by the lake AND champagne!? When Valerie and Justin told me their Milwaukee engagement session plans I could not wait! Not to mention, Valerie and Justin are the most beautiful people inside and out. The love they share and their adoration for each other was so apparent throughout the session. We were lucky enough to catch one of the last warm days before the cold set in! The session began on the bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan before hiking down to the waterfront. The sound of the waves crashing made the entire session so romantic and calm.

Valerie and Justin, I am so honored that you have chosen me to capture their Milwaukee wedding next fall. I hope you enjoy my favorites from your session!

Meg and Jordan are getting married next summer in downtown Milwaukee, so they wanted their engagement session more natural. Holy Hill in Erin, Wisconsin was the perfect backdrop for them. Climbing the open, narrow stairwell may made me slightly queasy (; but it was worth every second. The soft sunlight, their love and a gorgeous breeze made this moment unforgettable. We then joined their two beautiful dogs for some snuggles and laughs in an open field.

Meg and Jordan, your Milwaukee wedding day will be here before we know it and I cannot wait to witness it!
